# Browser terminal

Open a shell into your Odoo instance from the **Shell** tab in your browser. There are no SSH keys to create and nothing to set up.

The terminal is a real terminal scoped to your deployed Odoo instance. EasyInstance limits it to the operations Odoo needs and audits it end to end.

## What you can do

* **Run commands in the browser.** Open the **Shell** tab, type commands, read the output and scroll back.
* **Use Odoo shortcuts.** Built-in aliases cover `odoo-shell`, `odoo-update` and `odoo-install`.
* **Debug on the instance.** Read logs and inspect the environment without leaving the console.

## Safe by design

| Protection | How it works |
| :--- | :--- |
| Curated commands | Destructive commands such as `rm` and `kill`, and arbitrary shells, are blocked automatically |
| Audit trail | Every command, session open, idle timeout and disconnect is logged against your user |
| Scoped access | The shell reaches your deployed Odoo instance only |

You can look back through the audit trail whenever you need to see who ran what.
